SDF captures 3 ISIS members in Raqqa, foiling planned attacks
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by the U.S.-led Global Coalition forces captured on Oct. 6 three members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria, the SDF Media Center said on Saturday.
The SDF announced that its forces, along with the Coalition’s successfully conducted a security operation in Raqqa targeting an ISIS terrorist cell.
The operation led to the capture of three ISIS members: Osama Khaled Odeh and Ali Ahmad al-Shawish, both from Raqqa, and Ibrahim Muhammad Khair Ghalia from Aleppo.
The cell had been involved in supplying and distributing weapons to other ISIS cells to facilitate attacks on SDF forces, civilians, and essential infrastructure.
The Media Center added that the SDF forces continue their efforts to maintain security and stability in Northeast Syria, committed to dismantling ISIS cells and preventing further violence in the region.
