Israeli airstrikes target 2 locations in central Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israel launched early on Thursday airstrikes on two locations in central Syria, causing material damage.
Syria’s state-run news agency SANA said that Israeli airstrikes targeted an industrial site in the town of Hassia in the south of Homs and a military location in the countryside of Hama.
The strikes, that occurred around 01:00 AM, targeted a car manufacturing plant in Hassia, causing only material damage, according to SANA.
Israel has long targeted sites in Syria linked to Iran, but since the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, the frequency of these military strikes has significantly increased. The escalation has intensified further following recent clashes with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
On Oct. 6, Israeli airstrikes targeted several military positions of the Syrian government forces in Homs and Hama governorates, causing material damage.
