Turkish drone strike kills SDF fighter in Northeast Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Friday the killing of one of its fighters in the town of Amuda, located west of Qamishli in Northeast Syria, following a Turkish drone strike.
In an official statement, the SDF identified the fallen fighter as Saleh Haytham Khalil, who was killed while performing his duties.
The SDF condemned the strike, attributing it to Turkey’s ongoing military operations targeting the region.
The statement further highlighted that Turkey, along with its affiliated factions, continues to escalate hostilities against Northeast Syria, intensifying assaults across the area.
According to the SDF, these attacks are carried out without facing any moral, humanitarian, or legal consequences.
The SDF has repeatedly called on the international community to intervene and halt Turkey’s aggression, stressing the destabilizing impact it has on the region’s security and the lives of its civilians.
