Suspected ISIS gunmen attack oil tankers in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Armed individuals believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) attacked on Wednesday oil tankers in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source said that two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with machine guns on the tankers in the desert near the village of Ruwayshid in the north of Deir ez-Zor.
Although the tankers were empty, they sustained damage from the gunfire.
This incident follows ISIS claiming responsibility for two previous attacks on oil tankers in the Deir ez-Zor just two days prior.
