Drone strike kills 2 IRGC militants in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A drone strike, likely conducted by the U.S.-led Global coalition, killed on Sunday two militants of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source told North Press the drone struck an IRGC convoy on the main road in the city of al-Quriyah in the east of Deir ez-Zor.
The convoy was transporting weapons from Abu Kamal, near the Syrian-Iraqi border, to the town of al-Mayadin, according to the source.
The attack resulted in the killing of two IRGC militants and injuries to three others.
The strike also killed a child and injured both parents as they passed by the convoy at the time of the attack.
Late on Saturday, airstrikes targeted military posts and warehouses belonging to the IRGC in Deir ez-Zor, killing 18 militants, including a senior leader.
