Drone strike kills 8, including foreign nationals, in NW Syria

HAMA, Syria (North Press) – Eight individuals, including foreign nationals, were killed on Tuesday in a drone strike on a Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, once known as al-Nusra Front) facility in the countryside of Hama in central Syria.

A military source in Hama said the attack targeted the village of Duwayr al-Akrad in the northwest of Hama, and confirmed that drone activity was observed in the area two hours prior to the strike.

The attack is suspected to have been carried by the U.S-led Global Coalition, which has previously targeted military leaders in Idlib and other areas in northwestern Syria.

According to a leader from the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, the strike involved two guided missiles fired from a drone, directly hitting an HTS military post.

Among the dead was Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, a notable figure within the HTS.

So far, no party has claimed responsibility for the strike.
