Gunmen kill 3 government soldiers in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown individuals killed on Thursday three soldiers of the Syrian government forces in the countryside of Daraa in southern Syria.
The attack targeted with machine guns a vehicle transporting five soldiers along the road between the villages of Saida and al-Naimah in the east of Daraa, resulting in the killing of three of them and the injury of two others.
According to a source, the three killed soldiers were identified as Samuel Hamdan, Jawhar Jawhar, and Hamza Merai.
They worked in the Political Security branch of the government forces and were stationed at the Nasib-Jaber border crossing between Syria and Jordan.
Following the attack, a heightened security alert was declared in the area, with officers from the Political Security branch swiftly responding to the scene.
Meanwhile, unknown gunmen targeted on Wednesday the convoy of Daraa’s Governor using an IED, causing injuries to several police officers who were escorting the convoy.
