HTS kills 5 government soldiers in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly known as al-Nusra Front) attacked on Monday posts of the Syrian government forces in the countryside of Aleppo in northwestern Syria, killing five soldiers.

North Press correspondent reported that the Saad ibn Abi Waqqas Brigade, affiliated with the HTS, launched a tactical operation targeting the posts of the government forces stationed in the village of Kabashin in the northwest of Aleppo.

The HTS captured two government posts, killing five soldiers and injuring others, in addition to capturing two personnel, the correspondent reported citing a military source.

The source pointed out that the attack came in response to the government forces’ attacks on the village of Kafr Nouran in western Aleppo, which injured about 13 civilians.

The source clarified that the HTS has not yet withdrawn from the posts it seized and is attempting to advance further in the area, amid intense clashes and mutual shelling between the two sides.
