Gunmen attack several SDF posts in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen attacked on Friday night several posts of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria, one claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS).

A military source in the SDF said that unknown gunmen targeted a checkpoint near the entrance to the village of Namliya in the east of Deir ez-Zor, causing material damage.

The source also added that another attack targeted an SDF post in the town of Shuhail, and a third attack targeted a post in the village of Daranj in eastern Deir ez-Zor, without resulting in casualties.

In the village of al-Jarzi in eastern Deir ez-Zor, gunmen detonated an IED in an SDF military vehicle, resulting in injuries to two personnel inside.

Hours later, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
