15 ISIS members killed, 7 U.S. soldiers injured in western Iraq
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Saturday that 15 Islamic State (ISIS) militants were killed, and seven U.S. soldiers sustained injuries, said an official.
The CENTCOM forces executed a raid in coordination with the Iraqi Security Forces that targeted ISIS members in Anbar Governorate.
The ISIS members were reportedly well-armed, equipped with various weapons, grenades, and explosive suicide belts, posing a substantial threat.
The raid resulted in the killing of 15 ISIS members, according a statement by the CENTCOM. However, seven U.S. soldiers were also injured, a U.S. defense official told the Associated Press.
The CENTCOM reiterated its commitment to combatting ISIS, stating that the U.S., along with its coalition and Iraqi forces, remains dedicated to pursuing and dismantling terrorist groups in the region.
