Unknown gunmen kill government member in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen targeted on Wednesday a member of the Syrian government forces in the northern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, resulting in his immediate death.

North Press correspondent reported, citing a local source that unknown gunmen shot to death Ramez Zarzour, member of the government’s Military Security Branch, while riding a motorcycle in the town of Atman, north of the city of Daraa.

The source added that Zarzour hails from the village of al-Yadudah, north of Daraa, and is known among residents for his bad reputation and responsibility for the arrest of dozens of former opposition members.

The city of Daraa and its countryside have been experiencing frequent targeting incidents, mostly aimed at government forces, with some also targeting former members of the opposition.
