U.S. diplomat discusses Syria situation with SNC

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A senior U.S. diplomat met on Monday the leader of the Syrian Coalition to discuss the current situation in Syria.

Syria Regional Platform (SRP) Director Nikolas Granger met with Hadi Albahra, the leader of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), the U.S. Embassy in Syria stated on X Platform.

They emphasized the importance of establishing governance and political solutions that align with U.N. Security Council Resolution 2254, addressing the needs and rightful demands of the Syrian people, according to the statement.

Moreover, Granger emphasized that the U.S. supports the Syrian opposition, noting that it is essential for voicing the concerns of all Syrians.

He added that the opposition is key to reaching a political solution to the Syrian conflict that is inclusive and led by Syrians, in line with U.N. Resolution 2254.

On July 26, Granger met leaders of the Syrian opposition and discussed human rights situation in northwestern Syria, a region under the control of the opposition and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front).
