Turkey deports over 2,000 Syrian Refugees
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities deported on Friday more than 2,000 Syrians, including women and children, through Bab al-Salama, Tel Abyad, and Bab al-Hawa border crossings in northern Syria.
Administrative sources within the management of the Bab al-Salama, Tel Abyad, and Bab al-Hawa crossings told North Press that the Turkish authorities deported more than 2,000 Syrian refugees in the past few hours of Friday.
The sources explained that all those deported were handed over to the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), through the three crossings.
They noted that this number is the largest deportation group to date since the deportations began approximately a year and a half ago.
Turkey deports thousands of Syrian refugees monthly, having started the practice more than a year and a half ago, despite it being in violation of international laws and norms.
