NE Syria’s Asayish arrest 6 ISIS members in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Thursday the arrest of six members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Raqqa Governorate in northern Syria.
On its official website, the Asayish said in a statement that their forces dismantled an ISIS sleeper cell of six members on Wednesday in the town of al-Karama, east of Raqqa.
The cell was planning to carry out “terrorist” attacks, the statement read.
The Asayish added that among the arrestees, there was one who had returned from Turkey.
The Asyaish keeps launching operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS and to ensure the stability and security of the region.
