SDF captures senior ISIS financer in Raqqa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday capturing a senior official of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the countryside of Raqqa in northern Syria.
The SDF Media Center said in a statement their forces arrested Hazim Suleiman al-Jabn, aka Abu Omar, who was responsible for financing ISIS sleeper cells in Raqqa.
Al-Jabn is originally from the town of Khsham in Deir ez-Zor, but he funded ISIS sleeper cells in Raqqa and its countryside to conduct terrorist activities.
After gathering specific intelligence about al-Jabn, SDF forces managed to locate and capture him at his hiding place, the statement said.
On July 18, the SDF arrested an ISIS leader in the town of al-Karama in the east of the city of Raqqa.
