SDF arrests ISIS member in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday the arrest of a member of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Qamishli, Northeast Syria.
The SDF said in a statement that its Military Operations Teams (MOT) conducted on Friday an operation against “an ISIS cell operative responsible for multiple bombings in the region.”
After a precise gathering of intelligence, the SDF managed to arrest Mohamed Osman Ali, an ISIS member who had carried out a number of bombings, the SDF statement read.
The SDF added that Ali is originally from the village of al-Jarniya in Raqqa, and “he was a member of an ISIS bombing cell involved in several terrorist attacks.”
The SDF intensifies its anti-ISIS operations in Northeast Syria that usually resulted in the arrest of members who are involved in bombings and operations.
Early in June, the SDF conducted two operations in the town of Tel Hamis, south of the city of Qamishli, and managed to arrest three ISIS members; Muhannad Mahjoub al-Madloul, aka Abu Sham, Saad Mahjoub al-Madloul, aka Abu Saddam, and Abdullah Muhammad Ibrahim, aka Abu Hisham.
“Our SDF forces reaffirm their commitment to pursuing ISIS remnants, dismantling their cells, and eradicating them,” the SDF concluded.
