SDC condemns SNA’s suppression of anti-Turkey protests in NW Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) condemned on Tuesday the crimes of the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) against protestors, calling all Syrian actors to hold a national dialogue.
In a statement, SDC said that they closely monitor the protests and popular movements in northwestern Syria sparked over violations and racist crimes committed against Syrian refugees in Turkey.
The SDC emphasized that recent attempts to normalize relations between the Syrian government and Turkey have deeply increased the pressure on the Syrian refugees in Turkey.
The SDC warned the reconciliation between the two parties will only bring further consequences for Syrians, and the signs of which have already begun to appear in the Turkish Kayseri, and in northwestern Syria.
The SDC held the international community responsible for what is happening due to its inaction.
The SDC called upon “Syrian national powers to expedite preparations for holding a conference for engaging all parties in the national dialogue in Syria” aimed at evaluating the current phase, determining priorities, facing challenges and risks, and unifying efforts in the coming period.
