QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Lebanese authorities charged a man who opened fire on the U.S. embassy in Beirut with a crime of affiliation with the Islamic State (ISIS), a judicial source said on Tuesday.

“The government’s commissioner to the military courts, Judge Fadi Akiki, charged Syrian national Qais Farraj with the crime of belonging to [ISIS] and carrying out terrorist acts” by perpetrating the embassy attack, the source told AFP.

Farraj, who was injured when the Lebanese soldiers shot him, is still under interrogation as he is in the intensive care  unit (ICU), the source said.
