Turkish border guards kill Syrian in Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards tortured to death on Saturday a young Syrian man, while attempting to cross the Syrian-Turkish border from the northern countryside of Idlib, northwestern Syria.

Nawaf al-Kadro, 25, lost his life at the hospital in the city of Afrin in northwestern Syria due to his injuries sustained under the torture by the Turkish border guards.

Al-Kadro was transferred to the hospital by residents who found him near the border area with Turkey, north of Afrin.

His brother said that they hail from Homs Governorate in central Syria, and they are from al-Amour Arabic tribe.

He further added that Nawaf was residing in the Turkish city of Mersin since 2013.

Although its danger, Syrians keep trying to cross the border to Turkey illegally escaping the decade-long conflict, searching for a safe life and job opportunity, and to seek asylum in the European countries.

They are continuously and brutally beaten, tortured and shot to death by the Turkish border guards.
