Jordan forces kill prominent drug smuggler

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Jordanian security authorities killed on Saturday a drug smuggler and arrested others, through a tactical operation in the town of al-Ruwaished in Jordan.

The media spokesperson for the General Security Directorate announced that they conducted a raid against the most dangerous drug dealers and smugglers, noting that they are linked to regional networks.

The operation was done after gathering information and pinpointing the location of one of the most dangerous drug dealers and smugglers connected to regional networks, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson added that the wanted individual opened fire towards the security forces, and they responded to him, resulting in killing him.

The suspect was charged on possession of 125 blocks of cannabis, 53,000 narcotic pills, a quantity of crystal meth, and three firearms, two of which were automatic.

On June 26, the Jordanian military forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle large amounts of narcotics coming from Syria into Jordan, and kill a smuggler.
