Coalition sends reinforcements to bases in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S.-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS sent on Saturday reinforcements to its bases in the countryside of Qamishli in Northeast Syria.

A cargo plane, operated by the Coalition, transported military and logistical equipment from Iraq to the Kharab al-Jir base of the U.S.-led Global Coalition near the town of Rmelan in the east of the city of Qamishli.

Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 7, 2023, many attacks have surged against U.S. and Coalition bases in Syria and Iraq. Most of these attacks have been claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iranian-backed militias.

The U.S-led Global Coalition has been actively collaborating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and local tribes to improve living conditions and counter activities of Iranian-backed militias seeking to destabilize the SDF-held areas.
