Syria’s FM meets counterpart in UAE

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Faisal Mekdad, met on Thursday UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan in the UAE.

During the meeting which involved a number of diplomatists in the UAE, both parties discussed “bilateral relations in various fields, the issues and challenges facing the region in general, in addition to issues related to international situation and its repercussions on the situation in the Middle East.”

The two parties expressed their commitment to “maintain their contacts and consultations as a part of joint keenness to meet the aspirations of the two countries and peoples.”

On Feb 28, Syria’s Ministry of Health received huge medical aid and equipment provided by the UAE via the port and International Airport of Latakia Governorate, western Syria.

Relations between the two countries have been restored following the devastating earthquake in February 2023.
