9 bodies of Iran-backed militia found in Syrian Desert

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Syrian government forces found on Wednesday bodies of militants of an Iranian-backed militia who were previously killed in operations in the Syrian Desert.

A military source of the government forces said a patrol of them found nine bodies of militants of Liwa al-Quds, a militia affiliated with Iran.

The source added that the killed were stripped naked and were shot in the heads near the city of Palmyra in the Syrian Desert.

He cited an officer of the Liwa al-Quds as saying that they lost touch with the group 20 days ago during a combing operation in the desert.

Liwa al-Quds is a branch of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and it is specialized in unconventional warfare and military intelligence.
