Asayish seize large amounts of captagon pills in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish)announced on Thursday seizing large quantities of captagon pills and hashish in the city of Raqqa in northern Syria coming from government-held areas.

According to the Asayish’s statement, 45.5 kilograms of hashish and 162,000 captagon pills were confiscated during inspection on June 10.

They added that they received information that some drug traffickers were bringing large quantities from areas controlled by the Syrian government into areas run by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and Raqqa to be smuggled to other areas.

The Asayish pointed out they monitored the movements of the smugglers and tracked the vehicle loaded with drugs.

After interrogation, the Asayish handed over the detainees to the AANES judiciary authorities.

On May 4, the Asayish seized large quantities of drugs and arrested drug smugglers in the cities of Qamishli and Deir ez-Zor.
