ISIS attack in Syrian Desert kills 5 government soldiers

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Five militants of the Syrian government forces and an affiliated militia were killed on Friday in an attack launched by the Islamic State (ISIS) in the Syrian Desert.

Militants of ISIS attacked a military vehicle of the government forces near the village Manoukh in the eastern countryside of Homs using machine guns, a military source in the government forces said.

The source added that the attack resulted in the killing of two soldiers of the government forces and the injury of another.

The ISIS militants launched another attack against a headquarters of the Iranian-backed Liwa al-Quds militia in Jabal al-Amour area in the north of Palmyra, the Syrian Desert. 

The attack led to the killing of three militants of the Liwa al-Quds.
