Germany’s Scholz backs Syrians, Afghans deportation
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Thursday that individuals who commit serious crimes in Germany should be deported, regardless of their country of origin.
Scholz stated that serious criminals should be deported, even if they come from Syria or Afghanistan.
His statement came after an Afghan asylum seeker killed a police officer in a knife attack in the city of Mannheim on June 2.
The attacker stabbed participants in an event organized by the Pax Europa group, wounding five members of the organization, and a police officer who intervened.
The German Chancellor added that glorifying or celebrating acts of terror was “against all our values“, and could in future be punished with deportation.
