QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Three gunmen attacked on Wednesday the U.S. embassy in the suburb of Aukar in the north of Beirut, the Lebanese army said.
One of the attackers, said to be Syrian, was injured as the Lebanese soldiers shot at him and that he was hospitalized.
The U.S. embassy said, “At 8:34 a.m. local time, small arms fire was reported in the vicinity of the entrance to the U.S. Embassy.”
it added that the embassy and the security team are safe, noting that “Investigations are underway and we are in close contact with host country law enforcement.”
