2 government intelligence members killed  in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen shot to death on Sunday two members of a group affiliated with the Syrian government forces in the northern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that unknown gunmen targeted Amer al-Shahadat and Rakan al-Shahadat near a military checkpoint of the government forces at the entrance of the city of Jassem, north of Daraa.

The source added that the two members were serving in the Military Security Branch, which is led by Khalil al-Jalam, aka al-Ghabaini, who was a former leader in the armed opposition factions.

The source indicated that the personnel at the nearby military government’s checkpoint opened fire indiscriminately after the targeting took place, and then they proceeded to close the road and prevent vehicles from passing.

Daraa experiences a state of insecurity as frequent incidents of killings occur without any specific party claiming responsibility for these attacks.
