QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces shelled on Sunday at night the countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, in response to attacks on Golan Heights launched from the direction of Syria.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Israeli forces launched at least four rockets on positions in the Tel Jabiye, Tel al-Jmou’, and Tel Ashtar in the northwest of Daraa.
According to The Times of Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they shelled these sites with artillery in response to two rockets launched from Syria at Golan Heights, which the SOHR said were carried out by groups of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
The IDF added the rockets hit open areas without causing any casualties or damage.
Additionally, the IDF announced Israeli fighter jets shot down at night a drone heading towards Israel from the east.
The Iranian-backed Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed to have launched two drones at Israel to attack two military positions, according to the Times of Israel.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, Iranian-backed militias have launched several attacks from Syria and Iraq against Israel. Additionally, Iran carried out an unprecedented attack with hundreds of drones and missiles against Israel in April.
