SDF meets al-Uqaydat tribe leaders in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) held a meeting on Saturday with tribal leaders of al-Uqaydat tribe in Hasakah Governorate in Northeast Syria to discuss challenges facing the region.

The SDF Media Center stated that they held a meeting attended by a number of tribal leaders of al-Uqaydat tribe.

The discussions centered on security concerns throughout the region, with a particular focus on Deir ez-Zor, the SDF said, adding that the attendees addressed challenges related to sow discord among the residents.

The tribal leaders confirmed their clinging to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), saying that their sons are members of the SDF.

The leaders also stressed their right to self-determination and ensure all rights, pointing out that all individuals who are outside the region and seeking to undermine security and create discord represent only themselves.

AANES-held areas, particularly Deir ez-Zor, witness systematic provocations by trained groups aim to destabilize the area and to target SDF posts, besides sowing discord among local people.
