Arab tribes organize horse race in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A number of Arab tribes organized on Sunday a horse race, including 150 purebred horses, in Hasakah Governorate in Northeast Syria.
The race was organized in the village of al-Khamaeil in the southern countryside of Hasakah.
Muhammad Thyab, an organizer of the festival, said this was a cultural and brotherly race that contributed to the cohesion of the tribal community.
Thyab told North Press that they have been preparing for this event for two months, and it included horse owners from various areas in northeastern Syria’s areas.
Thyab added that horses are considered part of their ancient customs and traditions, as they are committed to preserving this culture. He emphasized that this event carries ethical values.
At the end of the festival, the organizers gave various awards to the top three winners of each class.
