Landmine blast injures 4 civilians in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A landmine exploded on Thursday in a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, injuring four civilians, including two women.

An eyewitness from the town of al-Busayrah in the east of Deir ez-Zor said a landmine that was planted near the main road next to the former al-Fayha Hospital at the entrance of the town was exploded on a civilian bus.

The eyewitness added that explosion resulted in the injury of four people, including two women, who were transported to al-Hamadi Hospital in al-Busayrah.

He suggested that the landmine was planted to target military vehicles of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

He confirmed that there were no landmines or war remnants in that location, as the area has been populated for a long time.

Syria is considered the first globally in terms of the number of people killed in landmines, as the landmines planted by conflicting parties in Syria resulted in the killing of thousands of people.

On April 3, two people were killed in an explosion caused by a landmine of war remnants in Deir ez-Zor.
