Local group detains 3 government officers in Syria’s Suwayda

SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – A local group in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, detained on Monday three Syrian government officers in response to the arrest of a civilian.

North Press correspondent reported that a local group detained Ramez Hassan Ra’I, Bassel Mustafa al-Mikawi, and Murad Mansour al-Bardan. All of them are officers within the Syrian government forces.

The correspondent added that the detention came after the arresting of a resident from Suwayda named Hussam Duwair by the government forces in Damascus and taking him to an unknown destination.

For several months, demonstrations have been continuing in al-Karama Square in the city center of Suwayda, reaffirming the persistence of the movement and demanding the overthrow of the “regime.”
