DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday that his country is seeking to coordinate a diplomatic response that would prevent any escalation of the crisis in the region.

“We don’t seek escalation, but we’ll continue to support the defense of Israel and to protect our personnel in the region,” Blinkensaid to Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ali Tamim during a meeting in Washington.

He highlighted the efforts to de-escalate the tension and to seek to coordinate a diplomatic response that would prevent any escalation of the crisis in the region.
