Iran’s IRGC evacuates posts in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) evacuated late on Saturday several of its posts and weapon warehouses in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, following Iran’s attack on Israel.

An exclusive source told North Press that the IRGC evacuated several posts and weapon depots in the towns of Abu Kamal, al-Mayadin, and the city center of Deir ez-Zor, heading towards trenches and tunnels in the desert of al-Mayadin, for fear of being targeted.

On Saturday, Iran launched an unprecedented large-scale drone and missile attack against Israel in retaliation for the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Moreover, the IRGC confiscated all mobile devices from local militants and transferred high-ranking leaders in civilian vehicles to an undisclosed location, the source added.

Additionally, the IRGC issued a general alert across all their posts in Deir ez-Zor and the countryside of Homs. It also relocated missile launch platforms to the towns of al-Salihiyah, al-Mayadin, and al-Asharah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
