Italy’s police arrest Tajik man suspected of being ISIS member
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Italian police arrested on Monday a Tajik man suspected of being an active member of the Islamic State (ISIS) group after landing at Rome’s international airport from the Netherlands.
The suspect was arrested based on an international arrest warrant that accused him of previously traveling to Syria to fight for ISIS in 2014.
The Italian police said the Tajik man, who was identified only by the initials S.I., was arrested moments after he landed from a flight from Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The police described the Tajik man a fugitive and pointed out he had used many aliases, birth dates and nationalities, including from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.
