Asayish seize 573,000 captagon pills in Syria’s Hasakah

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Friday the seizure of large quantities of captagon in the city of Hasakah in northeast Syria.

In a statement released on its official website, the Asayish said their forces managed on March 31 to seize a truck and a car loaded with 573,000 pills of captagon.

The drivers of the two vehicles were drug traffickers and they were heading to the city of Hasakah.

In 2023, the Asayish’s Anti-Drug Forces launched 1,946 operations in pursuing drug dealers and smugglers and arrested 3,300 people including 172 drug smugglers, 2,165 drug users, and 963 drug dealers.
