Israeli airstrike on vicinity of Damascus injures 2 people

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Ministry of Defense of Syria reported on Sunday that the Israeli airstrike on a town in the Syrian capital of Damascus resulted in casualties.

The airstrike resulted in the injury of two civilians, according to the Ministry of Defense of Syria.

The Israeli airstrike targeted the vicinity of the town of al-Dimass west of Damascus.

Earlier, Israeli media outlets reported that Israeli air defense systems intercepted enemy targets in Damascus.

Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes targeting Iranian-backed militias fighting alongside the Syrian government forces in the country’s 13-year civil war.

On March 29, 52 people were killed and dozens were injured, the majority of whom were militants of Lebanese Hezbollah, due to Israeli airstrikes targeting weapons depots in the countryside of Aleppo, northwest Syria.
