SDF announces losing 2 fighters in ISIS attack in Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday that two of its fighters were killed days earlier in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, during clashes with militants of the Islamic State (ISIS).

The SDF said in a statement published on its official website that on March 27, an ISIS-affiliated cell inside the city of Raqqa attempted to target SDF positions.

The statement added that during the ensuing clashes, the SDF injured and captured one of the attackers, while two SDF fighters lost their lives.

The SDF further said that there has been an increase in activities of ISIS cells recently, considering it an attempt by ISIS to avenge its defeat.
