North Press reveals details about Israeli airstrikes in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – North Press, through an exclusive security source, obtained details of the Israeli airstrikes that targeted, a day earlier, weapons depots and a training camp belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah in Aleppo Governorate, northwestern Syria.

The airstrikes targeted, according to the source, weapons depots at the city of Safirah and the village of Jibrin, as well as a training camp in Jibrin. The latter was supervised by Hezbollah leaders along with individuals from the Shiite-majority town of Nubl in northern Aleppo.

The training camp housed volunteers working on annual contracts who are deployed upon finishing training as auxiliary forces for Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias in several areas in Syria.

Militants of the Iranian-backed Baqir Brigade are deployed in the areas that were targeted by the airstrikes. The brigade had previously deployed 150 members to Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, and to frontlines with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Israeli airstrikes resulted in the killing of 46 militants of both Hezbollah and Iran-backed militiamen from Nubl.

The security source denied the Syrian government’s narrative about the killing of Syrian soldiers in the airstrikes, confirming that the casualties were from Hezbollah and its affiliated Baqir Brigade, as well as Iranian-backed militias operating in the area.
