Deadliest Israeli airstrikes on Aleppo kill 38 people
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes on Aleppo Governorate in northwest Syria on Friday killed 38 people including five members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In deadliest airstrikes on the country, the Israeli Air Force rocked the city of Aleppo and its countryside and targeted several posts.
Earlier on Friday, Syria’s state-run news agency SANA quoted a military source as saying, “A number of civilians and military personnel were martyred and injured on Friday dawn, as a result of an Israeli aggression targeting a number of points in Aleppo countryside.”
One of the Hezbollah members was a local field commander whose brother was killed in an Israeli strike on southern Lebanon in November 2023, Reuters said.
The Israel Defense Forces declined to comment on the attack.
Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the airstrikes calling it “a terrorist aggression”.
“Syria condemns the terrorist aggression launched by the Israeli occupation entity at dawn Friday, targeting a number of points in Aleppo countryside, causing the martyrdom and wounding a number of civilians and military personnel and material damage on public and private property,” the ministry said in statement.
