Iranian-backed faction reinforces posts in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Iranian-backed Liwa Fatemiyoun deployed on Sunday military reinforcements coming from Iraq in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
According to a military source within the Syrian government forces, the Liwa sent significant military reinforcements to support its posts in the towns of Abu Kamal and al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. These reinforcements included various arms, ammunition, modern military equipment, and logistical supplies.
Additionally, Liwa Fatemiyoun sent three groups of militants from different nationalities over the past few days. Furthermore, Liwa Fatemiyoun replaced most of its existing leaders in Deir ez-Zor with leaders who were previously based in Iraq.
In the coming days, additional vehicles are expected to reinforce other posts of Liwa Fatemiyoun in the countryside of Homs and the Syrian Desert in central the country. The purpose behind these reinforcements remains undisclosed, according to the source.
