Government forces attack in Syria’s Aleppo results in casualties
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A person was killed and six others were injured on Saturday in an attack by the Syrian government forces on a civilian bus near a village west of Aleppo Governorate, amid military escalation between the conflicting parties in the governorates of Aleppo and Idlib, northwest Syria.
An exclusive source reported to North Press that a mortar shell targeted a bus carrying seven people as they were leaving the village of Kabashin, west of Aleppo.
The source added that the attack resulted in the killing of one person and the injury of six others, including a woman and five children, some of whom are in critical condition.
The source further added that the attack came from the direction of the government forces’ positions, coinciding with mutual shelling between the government forces and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) in Idlib countryside.
Additionally, opposition-affiliated media platforms reported that a number of government forces’ soldiers were killed in an operation carried out by the HTS against positions where government forces were stationed near the town of Dana, northern Idlib.
They added that the HTS also targeted positions of the government forces and Iranian-backed militias in the village of Basratun in western Aleppo countryside with rockets.
