Unknown gunmen kill man, wound another in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Friday an individual and injured another in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source told North Press that unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle shot Ali al-Haylani, 30, and his father, Hussein, 60, using a machine gun in the town of Abu Hardoub in the east of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack immediately killed al-Haylani and resulted in the injury of his father, who was taken to a field hospital in the town and is in a critical condition, according to the source.
Moreover, both men do not have any military or political affiliation with any party, the source said.
Meanwhile, no party claimed responsibility for the attack. The Islamic State (ISIS) is usually active in the area as its sleeper cells conduct intensive operations.
