Unknown gunmen kill 1 Iranian-backed militant in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Monday a militant affiliated with the Iranian-backed Liwa Fatemiyoun in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
Ahamd al-Jamil, a resident from the town of al-Mayadin, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, said that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted a military vehicle belonging to Liwa Fatemiyoun near Modern Medicine Hospital in the center of al-Mayadin.
Al-Jamil added that the attack resulted in the killing of one the militants who were in the vehicle that was also damaged.
Following the incident, militants of Liwa Fatemiyoun randomly arrested residents near the scene, according to the source.
