Asayish arrest 47 individuals in security campaign in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested on Monday 47 individuals linked to external parties, extremists, and sabotage groups in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.

The Asayish Media Center said in a statement that the security forces carried out a wide-scale security campaign starting from the city of Hasakah to the town of Shaddadi, southern the city.

The statement added that the campaign targeted cells of the Islamic State (ISIS) and “sabotage groups”.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of 47 individuals, including 13 militants of ISIS cells, three individuals linked with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), and 13 individuals involved in “sabotage groups”, the statement reads.

The Asayish also seized weapons, ammunition, equipment, and narcotics during the campaign, according to the statement.
