Asayish arrest 3 individuals for assaulting 2 sisters in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested on Monday three people for assaulting two sisters in a village in the northern countryside of Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria.
A video widely circulated on Social Media showed young men assaulting two girls. Reportedly, the footage was filmed in the village of Tel al-Samen, north of Raqqa. The incident prompted calls for holding the perpetrators accountable.
Adalat Omar, head of the Women’s Board affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), stated that the Asayish arrested three individuals involved in assaulting the two sisters, Lina al-Ahmad and Aisha al-Ahmad.
The sisters are held now at centers affiliated with the Women’s Board, according to Omar.
Organizations in Raqqa condemned the incident through an official statement.
