SDF apprehends 16 ISIS militants in Syria’s Hasakah

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Sunday apprehending 16 militants of an Islamic State (ISIS) cell in an operation in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.

The SDF’s Media Center said in a statement that during a security operation conducted on Feb.22, the SDF forces “apprehended 16 ISIS operatives and facilitators” who were involved in carrying out attacks or helped ISIS cells in executing these attacks against their forces.

Additionally, the statement pointed out that the apprehended ISIS militants are now being interrogated and investigated, adding that more information will be provided later.  

The statement added the SDF forces seized quantities of weapons, ammunition, and equipment during the operation.

The SDF stressed its commitment to continue the fight against ISIS until its complete eradication.
