Government forces officer killed in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen on Friday killed an officer of the Syrian government forces in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria.
A local source told North Press that a general of the government forces named Amer was killed by unknown gunmen in the town of al-Vgeh to the north of the city of Daraa.
The source added that the killed general hailed from Hama Governorate and served in the Ninth Division in Daraa.
Military bases and personnel of the government forces are attacked every now and then in Daraa Governorate, killing and injuring many officers and soldiers.
On Feb. 19, unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on Walid al-Mesalma and Ahmad al-Mesalma in Sajna neighborhood in Daraa, killing both of them.
