New Israeli airstrikes rock Syrian capital Damascus
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes targeted on Wednesday a residential neighborhood in the Syrian capital Damascus, state media said.
The state-run SANA news agency reported that “an Israeli aggression” targeted the Kafr Souseh neighborhood in Damascus, adding sounds of explosions were heard and smoke plumes were seen rising from the southern neighborhood.
Meanwhile, the local radio SHAM FM said the attacks hit a residential building behind an Iranian school in Kafr Souseh. Initial reports indicate the airstrikes resulted in casualties.
On Feb. 17, the Israeli Army claimed responsibility for attacking an ammunition warehouse of the Syrian government forces in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, in response to rockets attacks on Israel.
